Tasks of a CNA - CNA's perform many duties to ensure patient comfort, including measuring vital signs, administering medication, providing basic nursing care, and assisting patients with daily tasks such as eating, bathing and dressing:

• Measuring a patient's vital signs, including their temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation level, is an integral part of any medical examination.
• Facilitating clear communication between patients and healthcare providers to help them reach a common ground.
• Patient observations that are recorded in a chart serve as a crucial resource in future healthcare decision-making.
• Aiding individuals with limited mobility or disabilities in moving or lifting.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• A nursing assistant who holds legal certification and is in good standing with their state’s nursing board
• In summary, basic patient care competency skills are essential for healthcare professionals to effectively provide high-quality care to their patients, and should be prioritized throughout their careers
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and the skill of accurately documenting patient information is a desired trait
