The position of a Student Nursing Aide will encompass an array of obligations and tasks contingent on the healthcare team, patient requirements, and demographic. Monitoring Vital Signs

As a nursing assistant, it's your responsibility to follow the orders of the licensed nurse in charge. You'll be expected to perform your tasks with a high level of awareness and diligence, and to discuss any changes in the patient's condition with your supervisor:

    1. Collecting essential physical metrics, blood glucose evaluations, and pulse oxygen measurements
    2. Assisting with the ingestion needs of those in assisted living
    3. Dressing shifts are restricted to the placement of basic bandaging procedures (following NHS norms, it is recommended to perform either non-wet or sterile dressing replacements)
    4. Incorrectly sizing the wafer board can cause irritation to the skin, leakage, and discomfort for the individual with the ostomy
    5. Incorporating the use of a gait belt, walker, crutches, and wheelchair in restorative care is important because it helps patients regain their physical strength and identify their physical limitations
    6. Restorative care interventions may include exercises, warm up activities, and lifelong physical therapy programs
    7. Obtaining blood samples through peripheral venous phlebotomy is essential for laboratory analysis procedures
    8. Providing Oxygen Therapy through Nasal Cannula
    9. In the interest of avoiding the use of racemic epinephrine, nebulizer treatments will only be started or stopped for individuals without any indication of COVID-19.
    10. Implementing a regular screening and immunization program can have a positive impact on overall public health.
    11. The licensed nurse must delegate the documentation of all procedures and/or medications given in the facility’s electronic medical records platform and paper records.
    12. Prior to administering routine medications, it is important to review the patient's medical history and assess any potential risks or contraindications
    13. Take part in implementing the quality assurance program for the nursing department of the facility.

For instance, opioids or other controlled substances may only be administered in a hospital or designated facility to reduce the risk of diversion or misuse. These restrictions may also include close monitoring of vital signs and careful titration of the medication to minimize adverse effectsSupport the implementation of quality assurance protocols for nursing services in the facility.

      • The completion of coursework in Pharmacology, Medication Administration, and Nursing Fundamentals was a notable accomplishment
